Dr. Cecilia Christersson is Pro-Vice-Chancellor in Global Engagement and Challenge Based Learning at Malmö University, Malmö Sweden. She was the second female president for the Association of Dental Education in Europe. During her presidency special attention was given to the recognition of professional qualifications enabling mobility of professionals within the EU. In 2015 she chaired the Learning Together for Change conference in Tanzania, on how higher education can contribute to the Education for All movement and be included in Agenda 2030. She is the national chair for issues related to academic refugees in Sweden. In 2016, she received both the “Sustainable Visions and Values Award” from the International Beliefs and Values Institute, and the ”Janne Carlsson Award for Academic Leadership” at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 2017 the Swedish Ministry of Higher Education and Research appointed her to report on how collaboration between the Swedish School System and Swedish Universities on practice- based research can promote learning and improvement in education.
