Devi Bhuyan, Psy.D.

A graduate of James Madison University’s APA-Accredited Combined-Integrated Doctoral Program in Clinical and School Psychology, Dr. Devi Bhuyan is working as an independent consultant in India, and is a Fellow of the International Beliefs and Values Institute.

From 2007 – 2009, she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the International Beliefs and Values Institute where she assisted in the development and management of a range of scholarly, educational, and outreach activities such as the IBAVI’s collaborative initiatives in India; the Madison International Living and Learning Community for U.S. and international students; an interdisciplinary summer study abroad program in India and Sri Lanka; and the Springer Publishing journal, Beliefs and Values: Understanding the Global Implications of Human Nature.

Dr. Bhuyan’s previous professional experiences include working in non-profit organizations on domestic violence and sexual abuse of women and children in India as well as human resource capacity building and development of fund-raising strategies for various organizations. Dr. Bhuyan has worked and trained in a variety of mental health institutions and hospitals in India and the United States, serving a range of diverse populations by providing psychological services across the developmental and clinical spectrum.
